CARE and BURNING INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDLES made with SOY WAX

WHEN YOU FIRST START BURNING CANDLES, YOU DON'T EXPECT TO DO MUCH MORE THAN LIGHT IT AND ENJOY THE CANDLE LIGHT.  WHILE THIS IS CERTAINLY A SIMPLIFIED VERSION FOR SOME, CANDLE BURNING IS AN ART.  BY FOLLOWING OUR SIMPLE CANDLE MAINTENANCE RULES, YOUR CANDLE BURNING WILL BE GREATLY ENRICHED.  CANDLE CARE AND BURNING IS A RESPONSIBILITY "PLEASE" BURN WISELY

  1. Never leave a candle unattended while it's burning.

  2. Burn times will vary from scent to scent and according to each consumer's burning habits. All our candles are tested in the most favorable conditions with an inside temperature between 70 to 75 degrees with no natural or artificial drafts.

  3. Trim wicks to 1/8" each time before lighting candles. You may need to blow the candle out and trim back to 1/8" after a few hours of burning and relight again. DO NOT trim too short. This will result in a small flame and your candle will no longer burn properly. The first time you burn a container candle, you should allow it to burn at least until the top is completely melted.  A "full" melt pool on the first burn allows for more even burn of your candle's life.  Burning less will cause the candle to tunnel down the middle and drastically shorten the burn time.  So remember to always burn your candle at least until the wax has completely liquefied to the end of the container to ensure a lengthy, even burn.

  4. Do Not burn your container candles for more than approximately 4 hours straight at one time.  Allow candle to “rest” at least one hour between burns.

  5. Keep the burn pool clean, never throw matches into the candle.

  6. Keep burning candles away from any drafts, such as a ceiling fan and clear of any combustible materials.

  7. Keep candles away from direct sunlight and any heat sources such as a furnace or heater.

  8. ALWAYS place a candle on a heat resistant, level surface.

  9. Blow out the candle if the container becomes excessively hot or wick has moved.  Adjust wick with a knife when container has cooled.

  10. When your soy candle resets after burning, it may develop a frosty or uneven appearance.  This is not unusual!  It is simply characteristic of soy and will not affect your candle burn.

  11. Do not store soy in a cold area and do not leave in a hot car.
